The existing Grade B listed property had been extensively altered over the last 50 years and as a result required extensive renovations both internally and externally to re-establish its distinctive character. The client's brief was for a modern intervention in the traditional building adopting a restricted palette of materials. Internally existing linings were fully stripped back to the bare stone and a full reinstatement undertaken. The layout was altered where possible to create a more modern family home. Externally Carmyllie stone slates were reinstated on the roof and extensive stone repairs undertaken.
