Lower Polmaise Waste Management Facility

Wellwood Leslie Chartered Architects

Stirling Council's new waste management building is at the heart of the council's efforts to make their communities more sustainable, and is itself a beacon for sustainability. In this building recyclable materials collected from households in Stirlingshire are prepared for shipment to processors, and it provides office and staff accommodation for Stirling Council's Waste Services Team. Constructed from sustainable materials from local sources, it is heated by waste timber and solar thermal panels, and electricity will be generated on site by a wind turbine and a photovoltaic array.
