The brief was to assist a local residential developer to adapt and fully modernise an existing 1920's bungalow and convert the attic space to provide additional living accommodation.
The developer wanted to purchase, redesign, secure all statutory consents and undertake the construction work within a tight budget and to a strict programme of just 6 months. On purchase of the property we undertook a full measured survey to allow us to accurately record the existing layout and elevations and then we undertook a short options appraisal to look at the most cost effective way to redesign the existing accommodation and include an attic conversion to provide two additional bedrooms and a shared shower room. Once the designs were agreed we undertook the required planning and building warrant applications and liaised closely with the local authority to ensure the approvals were in place timeousley to allow the construction work to be completed to an extremely high standard of finsh, after whci the property was resold succesfully on the open market within the first month. We were delighted with the outcome of this project and have subsequently been appointed by the same client to date, on four more similar projects.
