In continuous use for over 700 years, this historic (A-listed) church occupies a prominent position in Edinburgh Old Town.

Since 1994, Graham Tristram (formerly of Campbell and Arnott), as architect for St Giles’ has directed four phases of grant-aided external repairs to masonry, lead roofs and stained glass windows. Interior work includes furniture, conversion of storeroom into study, choir lighting, music stands and specialist cleaning and lighting of Thistle Chapel. The new interior lighting (with dpa lighting / Arup) received the Roses Design Award 2010. The completion of new flooring and heating in the nave is due early 2013.
