Blackburn House

Simpson and Brown Architects

The category A-listed 18th century Blackburn House lay derelict from 1972 to 2005. With money from the Heritage Lottery Fund, European Regional Development Fund, Historic Scotland, Scottish Enterprise, West Lothian Council and the Architectural Heritage Fund, a major restoration project started to restore the building and provide office and studio space which would operate as a Centre for the Creative Industries. The project received a number of industry awards including an Edinburgh Architectural Association Award for Conservation and Regeneration.
