The Scottish Government’s largest single investment in architecture in service of the community, this project has created an £82 million, state-of-the-art crime campus. 25,000sqm of high-quality office accommodation sits alongside forensic laboratories and support facilities to improve collaboration between anti-crime agencies
The campus comprises four connected elements which form a U-shape around a central atrium. The design ethos was based on technologies used in crime detection, with DNA and chromosome biology being main themes. The primary circulation is at the centre of the building, at the point where the two chromatid shapes touch.
