The design generates 135,000sqft of Grade A office accommodation and overcomes the challenge of preserving a landmark listed building and integrating this with an innovative new design that can present a valuable addition to Glasgow's varied cityscape. The existing brick box cinema auditorium will be replaced with ground floor retail and restaurant uses which ensure public realm along West Regent and West Nile Street will be enlivened. This site connects key Glasgow buildings; the Odeon Art Deco corner and James Miller House on West Nile Street. Each of these buildings is entirely a reflection of its time and represents ages of optimism and growth. One West Regent Street is a highly contemporary design which continues this tradition and establishes a building which appeals to the maximum potential tenants. Proportion of openings respects the buildings neighbouring context whilst ensuring open office space - maximising views and day lighting to create a bright contemporary and flexible working environment.
