Coworth Park Spa

Purcell

Coworth Park is an award-winning eco-luxury spa that is buried within the Surrey landscape, emerging under a living roof of chamomile, lavender and thyme. Purcell's design ensures the building's volume and footprint are minimal and it is intimately related to its sensitive green belt setting. Coworth is the world's first spa to be built from carbon-negative lime hemp walling with a predominantly timber structure. The timber glulam monocoque beam structure has only 4% carbon comparative to steel. A biomass boiler and ground water heat transfer system meet 50% of the spa's energy demands at 33% below CO2 Target Emission Rate.
