Central Police Station Compound

Purcell

Dating from 1841, the Central Police Station Compound is a unique site in the heart of Hong Kong with a fascinating history centred on its colonial roots. Working with concept architects Herzog & De Meuron, Purcell was commissioned to find appropriate reuses for 17 historic buildings, balancing preservation of their historic character with sustainable renewal requirements. Purcell has assessed the site's vulnerabilities and identified its regeneration potential. The new scheme will create a coherent identity for the site and forge new links to make the site an integral part of the city's fabric and cultural life, safeguarding its future.
