The client brief is to provide a new build 3 bed property creating a clear contemporary proposal that subtlety responds to the unique character of rural Aberdeenshire. The principle public spaces and the master bedroom are housed below a ñu-shapedî roof with clerestory glazing employed in the bespoke cross section to fully realise a 'floating roof' concept. The building form takes advantage of the views from the site and creates a sheltered south facing 'outdoor room'. The proposal includes Low and Zero Carbon Technologies with material selection and overall language of the building informed by surrounding vernacular typologies.
