Torbeg Barns

John Lamb Architect

The conversion of two derelict stone barns to form two houses involved upward extension and renovation and replacement of the existing stone exterior. The introduction of arched windows at the upper levels brings the superb views into the house as well as natural light. The use of a gallery at first floor level and a split-level ground floor enriches the spatial quality and makes use of existing level changes. Timber cladding around the entrance doors replicates the original barn doors.
