Buccleuch Place and Meadow Lane Student Accommodation

jmarchitects

This project will accommodate 380 students and consists of refurbished Georgian apartments and four new purpose built accommodation blocks, all sharing landscaped gardens, energy centre and a central communal building. Careful attention has been given to the aspects of the design affecting the student experience. The buildings footprint and layouts have been designed to unlock the unused Meadow Lane and turn it into a vibrant, pedestrianised hub for student activities. All communal spaces have been designed to be adjacent to, and accessed from, Buccleuch Place. The aim within the listed buildings has been to reinstate the original flat layouts where possible and strengthen or recreate the original features.
