The National Graphene Institute will provide a state-of-the-art research facility which builds upon the highly acclaimed work of Nobel Prize winning Professors Andre Geim and Kostya Novoselov. The facility will house specialist Cleanrooms, laboratories and support areas for some of the worldÍs most advanced technology research entities. Primarily research focuses upon the production and research associated with the groundbreaking material Graphene. Graphene is the thinnest known material in the universe and the strongest ever measured. It can sustain current densities six orders of magnitude higher than that of copper, shows record thermal conductivity and stiffness, is impermeable to gases, and reconciles such conflicting qualities as brittleness and ductility.
