Our Client was interested in creating a bespoke conservatory of contemporary timber construction with quality of detail and construction to be formed over a little used terrace belonging to their first floor flat. A pergola style of timber conservatory was conceived as being appropriate which, in the design of the roof timbers, would replicate the curved shape of the boundary wall. Sliding glass windows, opening along the south elevation, emphasise the character of the timber pergola construction and provide controllable natural ventilation working in conjunction with electrically operated roof ventilators. Built-in storage cupboards were provided beneath the eye-shaped gable window.
