Delivered as a design and build project through the Scottish Government’s ‘Hub’ programme, the brief involved exploring how best to accommodate NHS, Council run services and four GP practices together. The client’s vision was for a community hub to provide for health related volunteer groups.
The building form and use of materials, including brick cladding and timber elements, reinforces legibility. The central atrium, light filled, acts as the social heart of the building and is linked to a south facing courtyard café space. Ground and first floor accommodation comprise a series of flexibly arranged clinical support rooms, while the top floor provides staff offices.
