John Gray Centre, Haddington

Gray, Marshall and Associates

The Practice was commissioned by East Lothian Council (ELC) to prepare plans for a museum, archive, local history and library building to help widen public access to the County's rich heritage. The project received grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund and Historic Scotland. The proposal involved converting and repairing four adjoining Listed Buildings in the centre of Haddington while creating a stimulating new entrance and public areas. We worked closely with ELC's museum, library and archive staff to develop proposals that are exciting and attractive to visitors while providing optimum conditions for storing, accessing and displaying a range of documents, artifacts and other items.
