Work in Dunbar started with a successful Townscape Heritage Initiative study and application to the HLF in 2002/2003. The Town House, the oldest building in Dunbar and 'A' Listed, was identified as a key project. We were commissioned by East Lothian Council to undertake comprehensive fabric repairs and improvements. While this was on site we were commissioned for a second phase of work to upgrade the museum and local history facilities. This involved internal alterations, a staircase extension and access improvements to provide enhanced accommodation for the local museum and community use. The museum and local history centre is largely run by volunteers.
