Dun Aluinn was constructed circa 1909, the property is listed category C and is dilapidated and in need of total refurbishment. There are some fine features in good condition; however these are few and far between. We proposed the creation of a unique bespoke boutique hotel/conference centre. To provide this requires the sympathetic refurbishment of the existing rooms, and its external fabric. It also requires the provision of two extensions. One to the West is a single storey conference room. To the East is a cruciform extension with 4 bedrooms and additional meeting and conference rooms to be fully accessible at both levels with the existing property. This is linked by a two storey glass walkway to the listed building. Internal alterations will provide en-suite bathrooms to each of the nine bedrooms. The additional four bedrooms to the cruciform will be fully accessible and served by a lift. The dining room, lounge and conference facilities will be retained in the existing rooms that shall be refurbished keeping the period detailing including intricate cornicing and original fireplaces.
