Glasgow Harbour, a key component of the regeneration masterplan for Glasgow's waterfront, comprises 650 luxury apartments, duplexes and penthouses set within a high quality public realm on Clydeport Authority land adjacent to Glasgow's West End.
Cooper Cromar were appointed as architect and landscape architect for the central portion of Phase 1 which consists of three separate residential developments. The successful project involved a close and coordinated design effort by a team of three architectural practices, a landscape architect and a masterplanner to produce a cohesive end result.
In that context boundaries were defined so that Cooper Cromar would have total control and responsibility for Meadowside Quay Square, the central public space, which is set over the development's subterranean car park and links seamlessly into the riverside walkway, linear park and key link to Partick.
High quality materials and a close attention to simple detailing produce a contemporary and memorable aesthetic.
