Anderston Regeneration, Phase 3

Cooper Cromar

Anderston Phase 3 consists of 109 new residential units comprising apartments and maisonettes arranged in four five to six-storey blocks close to Glasgow City Centre.

The development forms part of a larger masterplan to regenerate the Anderston area.

The buildings look to make a dynamic and lasting contribution to the area as a whole through their careful placement and considered palette of materials which complement both the existing tenements and earlier phases of the masterplan.

One building in particular is located on a significant corner of the new street layout adjacent to a listed tenement, one of the few historical fragments left after the comprehensive redevelopment of the 1960s. This building rises to six storeys and has large areas of glazing and feature balconies whilst respecting the scale and proportions of the adjacent listed building.

There are a great variety of housing types located throughout the four blocks, ranging from two bed flats to five bed maisonettes.

The new public realm works and pedestrian links seek to fully integrate this phase into the overall masterplan and into the wider area in general as an antidote to the inaccessibility of the inhospitable 1960s inspired decks and walkways throughout Anderston.
