Comprehensive Tenement Improvement Project, Glasgow

In 2011 Queens Cross Housing Association appointed Campbell and Morris Associates to provide 44 private and social rented flats within traditional tenement closes at Ancroft Street and Nansen Street Glasgow. As well as meeting local housing need due to its mixed tenure the development has rejuvenated a well established community area. Sustainability was of prime consideration from the outset. The flats are highly insulated achieving the equivalent performance of current new build. As well as using sustainable materials as far as possible each flat has a multi point ventilation system The project is also compliant with ECO Home standards and Secured by Design accreditation. The practice was delighted the project received the 'Herald Property Award 2013' for 'Best Affordable Apartment' as well as a commendation for 'Best Regeneration Project'.
