Extension and Remodel of 55 Keir Street

Bobby Halliday Architects

The existing kitchen outbuilding was poorly connected to the rest of the house with an existing conservatory providing unsatisfactory connection to the garden. The brief was to organise the kitchen and its relationship to the house and garden.

The extension, which connects the house to the garage, floods the kitchen and dining area with natural light with large glazed screens. At the far end, a covered enclosure provides sheltered access to and from the garden. The very simple architectural move makes the most of our brief Scottish summers.
