This site is a protected landscape feature, being an undulating and steeply sloping meadow visible from Forres and Findhorn Bay. Behind is Cluny Hill with Nelsons Tower. The building sits behind the ridge to be almost invisible, with a green roof disappearing against the mature woodland behind. It also sits lightly on the site by being built on stilts, so that the rolling contours are largely undisturbed. Entrance is by an elevated timber walkway running under the woodland canopy. The school is predominantly timber, with some steelwork for wind restraint. Heating is timber stove with back-boiler to remote radiators. Timber is sourced on the 7 acre woodland site.
