Dundee combines the most appealing aspects of Edinburgh and Glasgow within a small city of high cultural impact. This was one reason why London’s V&A Museum chose to collaborate with the City and University, to build a satellite Design Centre designed by the Japanese architect Kengo Kuma.
Architecture at Dundee University is uniquely situated in an Art School but is also part of a new School of the Environment, linking Planning and Geography. This situation and linkage places a strong emphasis on students developing informed and creative reponses at the interface of the natural and built environments.
Set on the waterfront between the city centre and close to the Dundee University campus the linkage between the new V&A and the University will be of particular benefit to the School of Architecture.
