The fourth RIAS/RIBA Awards again prompted an excellent response. An impressive 65 submissions were received. The judges had to select their shortlist from projects ranging from a new take on a dormer window to multimillion pound commercial and educational buildings. Entries ranged from throughout Scotland and in value from a few thousand pounds to tens of millions. The judge’s shortlist of 24 includes projects from Maybole to Mallaig.
The judges for this year’s awards are Iain Dickson PPRIAS (Chair), Julia Barfield, Marks Barfield, London (representing the Royal Institute of British Architects), Karen Cunningham, Director: Festival of Architecture 2016, Hugh Dutton Hon FRIAS (Hugh Dutton Associés, Paris) and Stuart Goodall, Director of Wood for Good and Chief Executive of the Confederation of Forest Industries (timber specialist).
