SBCC’s 2019 Annual Conference will provide a definitive guide to the latest developments in building contracts and construction law in Scotland. It is suitable for all construction industry professionals, including Architects, Engineers, Solicitors, Chartered Surveyors and Contractors in both the private and public sectors. This year we will feature some of the challenging financial and economic issues affecting our industry and initiatives to help address them and protect cash flow.
Derek MacKay, Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Economy and Fair Work will deliver the keynote address in which he will focus on the findings of the Scottish Government Report on Economy, Energy and Fair Work. We will take an in-depth look at Project Bank Accounts, as well as looking at latent defects from the viewpoints of an architect, a contractor and an insurer. The programme also includes invaluable updates on SBCC contracts, legal issues affecting the industry, the Integrated project insurance scheme and retentions.
The outstanding speakers include Lisa Cattanach (Chair SBCC and Construction Dispute Resolution), Donald Canavan (Hurd Rolland), Andrew Cooper (Transport for Scotland), Louise Lado-Byrnes, Ann O’Connell (BTO Solicitors), Kirsti Olson (Dentons), John Riches (Henry Cooper Consultants), Greg Walker (Scottish Government) and Karyn Watt (Anderson Strathern), with others to be announced shortly .
