About the project

The existing kitchen in this early Victorian house was in a poor state, the room had a low ceiling and the existing roof lights were only visible from the loft. Capital A gained Listed Building consent from Edinburgh Council to modernise the existing roof-lights. The ceiling was then removed and the room was transformed, becoming bright and airy. This increase in height and light allowed the client to specify a daring, modern kitchen which compliments the space. What was once a dark pantry, used for preparing food, is now the centre of family life.
