About the project

The houses of Douglas Row, on the banks of the River Ness, date back to the late 18th century making it one of the oldest remaining street facades in the town. The properties in question are both B listed but are in very poor structural condition, requiring almost complete internal refurbishment. Our brief is to extend the floor area to make the houses commercially viable as a rental proposition, and to upgrade the entire structure so as to render it safe and to give the buildings a useful life. All this must be achieved without adversely affecting the exterior, and to the satisfaction of both Highland Council and Historic Scotland.
